LAS VEGAS (AP) — LAS Vegas firefighters responding to a house fire found two people dead with gunshot wounds, and police were investigating whether the deaths were a murder-suicide.

A pickup truck in the home’s garage was on fire when firefighters arrived Wednesday evening. The bodies were found in a back room by firefighters searching the one-story home that was filled with dark smoke.

Bystanders had told arriving firefighters that the home’s occupants might be inside.

An investigation is being conducted by police homicide detectives, arson investigators and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Police Lt. Raymond Spencer said the deceased were a man and woman in their mid-50s.
