ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. — A man is arrested for murder after authorities found a body in the Escambia County, Alabama woods Thursday.

De’Antae Deshay Knight is being held in the Escambia County Detention Center on $1,000,000 bond.

On Thursday, Escambia County Sheriff’s Investigators and the Atmore Police Department responded to the Nokomis area for a possible homicide. 

“Investigators conducted interviews and executed numerous search warrants throughout the night,” Sheriff Heath Jackson said in a press release.

After an extensive search of the woods, investigators found an unidentified human corpse hidden in the brush. 

“Investigators, along with crime scene technicians, processed the scene and later charged De’Antae Deshay Knight with one count of Murder,” the press release states. 

The identity of the deceased is unknown and will be released after identification is made by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
