Visual held for Lesly Palacio

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —

Heart wrenching cries from her mother filled the family’s backyard in Las Vegas Thursday night as dozens of people held candles, left flowers and release baloon in honor of 22-year-old Lesly Palacio.

Lesly was last seen on Aug. 29 at Longhorn Hotel and Casino along with a male companion. Her family reported her missing on Sept. 1 and eight days later, authorities located her body near Valley of Fire State Park.

“And that man took away her life for no reason What did she do to you? Why would he do that,” Lesly’s little sister cried out during the memorial.

The man police suspect in her murder is 25-year-old Erik Rangel-Ibarra, someone the family says they’ve known for nearly 16 years.

“We just want justice for our sister. That’s all we want,” her sister said. 

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Ibarra.

Details from the Clark County Coroner’s Office about exactly how Palacio died have not been released.
