According to a previous TRN report, Baum was shot to death in an alley behind a home in the 4600 block of Meadow Lake Drive on June 11.

Worthy said while Vrana and McKinney were attempting to remove a chest from the property, Baum pulled into the alleyway.

McKinney approached Baum and told him to give him “everything you got.”

Worthy said he heard gunshots and ran back to a waiting car with Vrana running behind, firing a weapon down the alley. When McKinney returned to the car, he was asked why he shot. McKinney said the victim reached for his waistband.

According to the warrant, on July 1 a person claiming to know McKinney for several years contacted detectives and said McKinney confessed to him that he was the person who shot and killed Jason Baum.

On Monday, Worthy was charged with Organized Criminal Activity-Murder in connection with the Baum murder. His bond is set at $250,000.
