BCSO identified the suspect as Christian Rodriguez.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Monday afternoon a murder suspect barricaded himself inside a far north-side home after a man was found stabbed there.

BCSO identified the suspect Tuesday as Christian Rodriguez. He has now been charged with Murder and his bond is $250,000.

Deputies were called out to the 25000 block Whistling Acres, off Highway 281 near Bulverde Road, after a neighbor told police another neighbor was found deceased, according to officials.

When deputies arrived, they found a 45-year-old man dead, who had several stab wounds to the upper body, Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

While deputies were checking on the victim, they discovered the suspect was in another part of the house. That person, who BCSO initially said appeared to be the deceased person’s son, barricaded himself in a back room.

Salazar told KENS 5 it’s still unknown how long the victim had been dead in the front bedroom.

“It could have been several hours, but it could have been upwards of several days,” Salazar said.

Deputies convinced the suspect to throw what they believe was the murder weapon (a knife) out of a 2-story window. Around 4:30 p.m., they took the man in his mid-20s into custody.

Salazar said it appeared the suspect had mental health issues. Homicide detectives are at the scene gathering evidence.
